Happy New Year!

I was recently reminded that it is a new year and that for most of us it is the mid-point of our school year (or at least close). Both are good reasons to stand back and evaluate where we are and to plan for the future. Christian Home Educators of the Bluegrass is doing much the same. Your Board met in December for a fellowship dinner and to evaluate our progress so far this year. We celebrated the success of the re-designed Learning Zone and made plans for the Spring Semester. If any of you have questions about the Learning Zone please contact Tiffany King (using the e-mail on our contacts page or your Member Directory). We had a wonderful Christmas Party and some terrific field trips. Plans are being finalized for fellowships (Valentine’s Day, Easter, etc.), academic competitions, and for standardized testing. Plans are also underway for the end of the year Achievement Night.

Continue to check the Events Page for opportunities to fellowship together, learn together, and to serve. Don’t wait to be asked. If you have an idea for a field trip, event, fellowship, or anything else; contact any Board Member and offer to schedule/plan it. If you haven’t planned an event before, we can help you with the details. Let me assure you that it is not difficult!

As Spring rolls around – and, yes, it will come – consider your role for next year in CHB. Our nominating committee will be looking to fill open positions on the Board for service beginning in July. Is it your turn to serve? Start praying now about your role. CHB needs input from all of its members.

Finally, continue to pray for each other. Did you answer the challenge to partner with another family? It is never too late to start. The CHB Board meets on the 2nd Thursday of every month. Please pray for us as we meet as well. Start 2010 with prayer and a review of your progress.
