On-line Discussion Forum

One benefit of membership in Christian Home-Educators of the Bluegrass is access to our private on-line discussion forum. We use this web-based tool for the sharing of information that may be less formal than the e-mails that are regularly sent out. The Forum will:

  • allow you to "meet" other CHB members with whom you may not otherwise come in contact
  • provide a welcoming place where CHB members can chat and get to know one another!
  • allow members to share homeschooling resources (e.g. "I found a great free offer for a George Washington poster and lesson plan at ...")
  • allow new, as well as veteran homeschoolers the opportunity to ask questions about homeschooling help CHB members find others who might be interested in setting up classes, lessons, etc. that may not otherwise be offered through CHB
  • help CHB members find others who might like to go on a special field trip or outing that's not officially offered through the group (e.g. "We're starting a unit study on horses. Would anyone like to meet us at the Horse Park on such and such day...")
  • provide a place to announce area "opportunities" that might be of interest to homeschoolers/CHB members (e.g. the UK Geek Week, activities at the Public Library, programs at the Salato Center, etc.)
  • perhaps most importantly, provide a "safe place" to leave prayer requests.

Members should receive an e-mailed invitation to participate in the forum a few days after their application is approved. If you have not received an e-mail within 10-14 days after applying, contact the Forum Manager: Paul Stackhouse . The invitation will be sent to the primary e-mail address you provided on the application for membership.

CHB reserves the right to remove any posting for any reason.
