Another Year

It is hard to believe that another summer is ending. As we begin another school year in our many and varied homeschools, let us resolve to cover our schools and students in prayer. As Christian Homeschoolers of the Bluegrass, we must be dedicated to being just that - Christian Homeschoolers. While I wouldn't presume to tell you how to run your school, I would venture as far as to say that prayer, in my opinion, will be the most important element in that school. You might skip Math, Science, or reading for a day or two in your school, but if you neglect prayer for your school the focus changes. I would also challenge you to pray for other homeschools as well. Find a friend and agree to pray for each other's school on a weekly basis. You may be amazed at the changes that will occur.

With that thought expressed, let me say that CHB has some wonderful things in preparation for this year. Many of you have stepped up to help plan and coordinate some great events this year. From this year's Back to School Bash all the way through the year to 2009 Achievement Night, there will be over one hundred events occurring. Your dedicated and talented fellow members are always coming up with new ways to support homeschooling in Central Kentucky. Check the Events Calendar, the Discussion Board, and the Homeschool Happenings regularly to see which events will fit into your school. These events will not only enrich your school, but they will also give you opportunities to develop relationships with other members.

Lastly, let me say that you have elected a great group of men and women to be the Board for CHB. I am pleased to serve as this year's president with these people. Please remember that we are all available for your comments about what you want to see and experience in CHB. We are all available via e-mail for you to contact. You don't have to wait until the end of the year survey to express your opinion. Let us know how things are going. And, please, don't just contact us when something goes wrong; let us know when we get it right. We all like to hear about our successes. It makes it easier to hear about those, hopefully infrequent, missteps.
